LMT #27815

ABOUT SADE

Sade grew up in SE Portland, spending her childhood between the outdoors and performing arts settings. Her early embodiment practices grew out of being a theater kid and within dance classes. As a preteen she started studying yoga, and in college added martial arts. These experiences gifted her compassion for each body’s unique capabilities and limitations, and great respect for the cultural heritage of movement.

She obtained a BA in Communications Studies at Portland State University, then spent a decade leading global teams in a corporate setting. Heeding an enduring call to serve humans in a holistic healing setting, she explored many energetic modalities before settling on the path to massage therapy. Her expertise as a coach and facilitator is brought forward into her massage practice to empower clients, set expectations, and co-create treatment plans. During her education at East West College of Healing Arts, Sade specialized in subtle techniques including craniosacral, myofascial release, and spa therapies. She is drawn to gentle approaches over those that exert more force on our vessels.

As a parent as well as a birth doula, she is passionate about providing care for families inclusive of the tender perinatal periods. She has a personal and professional relationship with injury recovery and chronic illness, as well as an intuitive awareness of how stress is held in our tissues. Her ideal client is one who is moving through a transitional time in their life- body, mind, or spirit- or living with chronic conditions. Typical sessions with Sade are collaborative, curious, even playful, and often deeply relaxing.
